THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MASHARI (M Yeni) kicked the back gates and was restless in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) FAUSTINO (*K Brewer) was hanging out between the 1100m and the 900m. b) At approximately the 150m, BLAZE OF SILK (G Wright) was carried in by BERNIE'S DREAM (*C Dicken) which shifted in away from the crop. Simultaneously, BOTZ (S Veale) shifted out away from the crop and was awkwardly placed on the heels of BLAZE OF SILK (G Wright). c) Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with SUPA AGRA in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the performance of BOTZ (S Veale) (6.65 lengths, 3/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) CAPTAIN WHO (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L Karriem advised (NS). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) BLAZE OF SILK was ridden by Jockey G Wright. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) SUPER AGRA : Nothing obvious detected. b) BOTZ : Blowing. c) MASHARI : Mouth injury, cut in left nostril. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
