THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO THE DELAY IN THE PREVIOUS RACE. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WESTERN WISHES (*N Nastili) and SOUTHERN STYLE (J Gates) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HAPPY WIVES (K Matsunyane) commenced to give ground to the field from the 400m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) PREDATRICE (P Strydom) hung in from the 300m. c) FLIGHT OF A CONDOR (C Maujean) shifted out away from the crop in the concluding stages. d) Shortly before the finish line, JUNIPER GREEN (S Khumalo) was carried out marginally by GOLDEN MOMENT (C Zackey), which shifted out away from the crop. e) Jockey M Yeni reported that he felt something amiss with ONE PARTY in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey J Gates reported that SOUTHERN STYLE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. g) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LADY MAJORCA, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this filly is suspended for 120 days from racing in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer C Spies was advised h) FLIGHT OF A CONDOR (C Maujean), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D N Stenger advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. Race 10 contd. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) SOUTHERN STYLE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 16 April 2025 at 07H03). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) HAPPY WIVES fatigued. b) ONE PARTY examined post race, nothing obvious detected. c) SOUTHERN STYLE not striding out right hind; blowing post race. d) LADY MAJORCA bilateral epistaxis (2nd episode), recommended 120-day suspension. Trainer C Spies was advised (MB). e) WESTERN WISHES scalp wound right hind. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: None.
