Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SAKURAJIMA (S Khathi) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) BRENDEN JAMES (C Little) jumped awkwardly. b) LINKIN NAVIGATOR (E Webber) jumped awkwardly outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LINKIN NAVIGATOR (E Webber), which had jumped awkwardly outwards, made slight contact with KING'S RANSOM (A Arries), which jumped inwards slightly leaving the stalls. b) Jockey J Jacobs was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on LINKIN NAVIGATOR, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer, which resulted in a change of Rider. Jockey J Jacobs signed an admission of guilt and was fined R2000.00. When considering penalty, the Board took into consideration Jockey J Jacobs record with regards to contraventions of this Rule and it was established that he had contravened this Rule in the current racing season. c) GOLDEN PEACE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AC Greeff was advised.
