THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GALE WARNING (C Little) was restless in the stalls and jumped slow, losing two lengths. b) RANDOLPH HEARST (JP van der Merwe) threw its head down as the start was effected and jumped awkwardly outwards. c) MASTERONTHEMOON (K Matsunyane) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 300m CAPTAINS ALLIANCE (O Noach) shifted in away from the crop and had to be straightened. b) In view of the report from the Starter, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine GALE WARNING (C Little). c) RANDOLPH HEARST, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
