THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KILMONIVAIG (C Maujean) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MY AMI BEACH recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer E Kaknis was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) FLOWER FESTIVAL (L Mxothwa) over raced in the early and middle stages. c) KILMONIVAIG (C Maujean), which over raced in the early and middle stages, proved difficult to settle and shifted out away from the crop at the 150m. d) STROOPSOET (C Zackey) shifted out away from the crop from the 400m. e) In view of the performances of SEPTEMBER FLOWER (X Ndlovu) and STROOPSOET (C Zackey), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies. Trainer AC Greeff and Assistant Trainer DG Smith respectively were advised to report back should they find anything amiss with these fillies on their return to the stables. f) VALERIAS DREAM, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised.
