Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (L Mxothwa) and WHATEVER NEXT (R Fourie) were slow into stride.
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a) LINKIN NAVIGATOR (MK Katjedi) jumped outwards and made contact with EYJAFJALLAJOKULL (L Mxothwa) shortly after the start.
b) NO PLACE LIKE HOME (*I Taka) had to be switched in to obtain clear running at the 250m and thereafter, commenced to hang outwards.
c) Jockey K Minnie reported that MOVING IN was blowing post-race. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
Trainer AC Greeff was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
d) Jockey E Webber (KABON KAPI) was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.3.4 in that his crop was not of an approved standard in that the contact area of the shaft ("paddle") must be smooth, with no protrusion or raised surface, and covered by shock absorbing material throughout its circumference. Jockey E Webber signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1000.00.
e) GOLDEN PAVILION, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer DG Smith, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
