Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) KAMAKAZKI (O Noach) was restless in the stalls and jumped awkwardly. b) ONI SAN (S Veale) and SENHORA VICTORIA (*B Plaatjies) were slow into stride. c) PILOT FLAME (C Little) jumped slow, losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At the 1200m EPIKLEROS (L Mxothwa) was steadied when awkwardly placed on the inside of EUREKA DIAMOND (A Arries), which rolled in and was immediately corrected. PILOT FLAME (C Little), which was following, was steadied as a consequence. b) At the 200m LICKETY SPLIT (JP van der Merwe), which was held up for a clear run, was directed inwards and then had to be steadied when close to the heels of PILOT FLAME (C Little). c) Jockey A Arries reported that he felt something amiss with EUREKA DIAMOND. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey M Winnaar reported that RUSSIAN ROYAL choked up in running and eased this filly up in the concluding stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) MY ONLY WEAKNESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer AN Marcus was advised.
