THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STU'S GIRL (C Orffer) and SEE THE SIGN (J Solomons) were slow into stride. b) BLACK PATH (A Arries) jumped awkwardly outwards. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start STU'S GIRL (C Orffer) had to be checked away from the heels of BECKY SHARP (O Noach), which was carried outwards by BLACK PATH (A Arries), which had jumped outwards. b) Jockey C Orffer reported that STU'S GIRL changed stride continually in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) CLIFFSCAPE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (TJ) JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES: a) *B Plaatjies rode GRUE OF ICE (declared 15h41 on 20250428) (Jockey M Mjoka stood down by the course Medical Officer. Rule 25.12 applied) b) *B Plaatjies (GRUE OF ICE) rode 51.4kgs and only claimed 1.5kg of his 2.5kg allowance. The Stewards allowed this overweight due to the late jockey change.
