THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WESTERN VIEW (M van Rensburg) was stubborn loading. Trainer C Spies was advised to reschool this filly prior to her next engagement (GT). b) SKY GLITTER (W Kennedy) was restless in the stalls. c) LAST SONG (C Habib) jumped awkwardly leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) LITTLE RAIN (*S Sosibo) took an awkward stride at the 1000m. b) Jockey M Yeni's (RISING FENIX) crop was accidentally struck from his hand at the 250m. c) Jockey S Khumalo was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that he misused his crop by striking FEATHER THE NEST more than twelve times in the entire race. Jockey S Khumalo signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of seven (7) days. Suspension dates: To be advised. When assessing the penalty, the Board took into consideration the number of times Jockey S Khumalo used his crop (13), the manner in which and distance over which the crop was used, and his recent record with regard to this Rule and Guideline (8th transgression in the last sixty-day period). d) FEATHER THE NEST (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
