THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	LEXICAN POINT (D Daniels) over-raced in the early stages and middle stages. Thereafter, at approximately the 400m, Jockey D Daniels briefly dropped his right-side rein. 
b)	Jockey T Godden reported that he felt something amiss with JAZZ FESTIVAL in the running.  The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
c)	In view of the performance of TRUE TROJAN (22.80 lengths, 33/1 in the betting) the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	IMPERIAL POWER was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2. testing. The first specimen analysed at 15h13 revealed a level of over 36 TCO2. mmol/L. In terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen was collected.  Trainer G Puller was informed that the second blood specimen, analysed at 15h32 had revealed a level of over the threshold of 38 mmol/L.  Consequently, IMPERIAL POWER was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18. (Withdrawn at 15h40, 12/1 in the betting).
e)	INGQWELE (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M de Kock was advised (DZ).
