THE STARTER REPORTED: a) CHEAP THRILLS (Y Ramzan) was nervous and reared in the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) WELSH STARLET (*I Taka) failed to muster speed from approximately the 1700m and raced detached from the field throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) HAT MONTERA (C Habib) shifted out away from the crop at the 300m and was corrected at the 100m. c) CHEAP THRILLS (Y Ramzan) was hanging in from the 250m. d) DUTCHESS D'ORANGE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SB Kotzen was advised.
