The All Clear of this race was delayed while the Stewards considered the photograph of the finish, pertaining to the third place.

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	DESTINY OF FIRE (J P v'd Merwe) was stubborn to load. Lost 1 length.
b)	MISS PLATINA (C Orffer) lost 1 length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Leaving the 1600m FATAL GEM (K Matsunyane) was carried outwards by SASCHA'S DREAM (G Wright) which commenced to over-race on the heels of TOMYRIS (S Khumalo) which initially raced in a prominent position until cleared by SHE'S A BOMBER (A Mgudlwa) which secured the lead from a wide draw. Upon the review of the Patrol Film from the various angles, it was noted that HAT'S QUEEN (C Habib), ESCAPOLOGIST (C F Dicken), GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (R Fourie) and MISS PLATINA (C Orffer) had over-raced. The Stewards had reason to interview Jockey S Khumalo , the rider of TOMYRIS in relation to whether he had failed to sustain the initial tempo of the race and after considering the various factors involved in the incident, took no further action, but to advise Jockey Khumalo to ensure that he sustains the initial pace that he sets to avoid any room for query from the Stewards regarding the cause of interference in similar circumstances.  
b)	In view of the performances of GOODNESSGRACIOUSME (R Fourie) (5.90 lengths, 3/1 in the betting) and MY LADY SOUL (A Fortune) (9.50 lengths, 40/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine these fillies.
c)	MASCHERINA (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer P B Muscutt was advised (DZ).
