Stipes Report

The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of the horses at the start which led to the late placement of the starting stalls on the track. 

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	SEE IT AGAIN (R Danielson) and GLADATORIAN (S Veale) were stubborn to load. 
b)	TEXAS RED (K Matsunyane) was stubborn to load and thereafter was restless in the stalls. 
  
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	After being slow into stride GREAT PLAINS (R Fourie) was squeezed out shortly after the start. 
b)	QUESTIONING (J P v'd Merwe) over-raced in the early and middle stages. 
c)	In view of the performance of BARBARESCO (S Khumalo) (8.35 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. 
d)	GLADATORIAN (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S H Ferrie was advised (NS).
