Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	Jockey JP van der Merwe was severely unbalanced when HAZEL GREEN jumped very awkwardly leaving the stalls, losing three lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.
b)	RARE EARTH (L Mxothwa) jumped slow, losing one length.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed as the compression mask declared on PROUDLY SPOKEN (G van Niekerk) had to be fitted.
Trainer GS Kotzen was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented PROUDLY SPOKEN incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Assistant Trainer T Woolard signed an Admission of Guilt on behalf of Trainer GS Kotzen and Trainer GS Kotzen was fined R500.00.
b)	An Inquiry will be held to establish why HERITAGE RIDGE (C Little) had to be checked away from the heels of TAYLOR'S VERSION (O Noach) at the 200m and BIRD ON A WING (A Fortune), which was racing on the inside of HERITAGE RIDGE (C Little), made contact with CAPE CAPTAIN (M Winnaar).  
c)	After suffering interference at the 200m, HERITAGE RIDGE (C Little) was continually held up when awkwardly placed on the inside of the heels of TAYLOR'S VERSION (O Noach) until the finish.
d)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that he felt something amiss with HAZEL GREEN. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.  
e)	In view of the performance of WINTER GAMBLE (A Domeyer), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
f)	RIKKITIKKITAVI, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer WA Nel was advised. (SC)
