The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) SUNSHINE DAY (*B Marx-Jacobson) lost 1 length. b) GETOFFOFMYCLOUD (S Veale) and LINE IN THE SKY (*N Nastili) lost 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) DAFNES DAUGHTER (A Fortune) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 450m AVERNIAN GODDESS (C Zackey) was steadied in anticipation of being awkwardly placed between GETOFFOFMYCLOUD (S Veale) and SUNSHINE DAY (*B Marx-Jacobson) which rolled in marginally and was corrected. c) Leaving the 200m LINE IN THE SKY (*N Nastili) was momentarily inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of SUNSHINE DAY (*B Marx-Jacobson) and on the inside of LADYBUG (S Moodley) which commenced to hang in and shifted in. d) ICY LANCASTER (S Khumalo) commenced to give ground to the field from the 200m. in view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) In view of the performances of DAFNES DAUGHTER (A Fortune) (10.75 lengths, 25/2 in the betting) and BLOWIN IN THE WIND (A Mgudlwa) (4.95 lengths, 20/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) ARVERNIAN GODDESS (C Zackey), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
