THE STARTER REPORTED A) NO LAYING UP was nervous in the stalls. B) EVA EILEEN was stubborn loading. C) WILLIAMS LAND jumped inwards awkwardly leaving the stalls, was slow away and lost 1 length. D) JEAN'S MAN was nervous in the stalls and rushed the front gates. E) LEGITIMATE was slow away and lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED A) HERODOTUS (C Habib) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler. Trainer T J Laing on behalf of Trainer J J van Vuuren was advised that, in terms of Rule 93.2.4, this gelding is suspended indefinitely and until such time as it proves tractable proceeding to the start, on a race day. B) WILLIAMS LAND (*K A Brewer) proved difficult proceeding to the start and had to be led by a Handler.
