THE START OF THIS RACE WAS DELAYED DUE TO AFTER HOURS (M YENI) HAVING TO BE RESADDLED AT THE START. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) STROKE OF MERCY (*G Samo-Burthia) was slow losing one length. b) CALIDA (C Habib) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) At approximately the 1100m, AFTER HOURS (M Yeni), which commenced to over-race, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of CALL ME MASTER (G Lerena). b) At approximately the 400m, AFTER HOURS (M Yeni) was eased when awkwardly placed between CALL ME MASTER (G Lerena), which rolled in, and CAN'T CATCH ME (M K Katjedi) and GIMME THE FLAME (K Matsunyane), which were carried out marginally by SAIL THE SKY (M van Rensburg), which shifted out away from the crop and was straightened. c) SEA SHANTY (J Penny), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M Khan advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) GIMME THE FLAME: Jockey K Matsunyane weighed out at 52,6kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) GIMME THE FLAME raced equipped with alumites in front and steel shoes behind (declared 30 April 2025 at 13H37). b) STROKE OF MERCY raced equipped with cheek pieces (declared 6 May 2025 at 07H41).
