THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	Shortly after the start INDIAN OCEAN (K Matsunyane) was encouraged forward from a wide draw to race in a handy position. As a result this mare raced wide and without cover in the early and middle stages.
b)	FUTURE SWING (R Fourie) over-raced in the early stages and thereafter hung in from the 400m.
c)	SELUKWE (S Moodley) hung in and shifted in from the 200m.
d)	Approaching the 200m SHOOT THE RAPIDS (C Habib) was steadied when awkwardly placed between HOLDING THUMBS which had come to the end of its run and NARINA TROGON (T Godden) which rolled in and was immediately corrected.
e)	In view of the performances of FUTURE SWING (R Fourie) (6.30 lengths, 7/1 in the betting), MADISON VALLEY (C Zackey) (10.60 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), HOLDING THUMBS (S Veale) (9.20 lengths, 6/1 in the betting) and INDIAN OCEAN (K Matsunyane) (11.00 lengths, 16/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
