The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of the horses at the start. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) RUGGER LOVER (R Fourie), SIGN OF FATE (S Moodley) and HAPPY FORTUNE (A Mgudlwa) over-raced in the early stages. b) At the 1000m SHE'S A MACHINE (C Zackey) which commenced to over-race, was directed out away from the heels of HAPPY FORTUNE (A Mgudlwa). c) At the 250m Jockey K Matsunyane (PRINCESS PALACE) briefly paused with the use of his crop when racing in close proximity to SIMPLE SIMPLE (R Danielson). d) In view of the performance of PRINCESS PALACE (K Matsunyane) (2.45 lengths, 9/2 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) UBUKHWEBEZANA (S Veale), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
