THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GLOBETONIC (S Naidoo) jumped outwards. b) CAN'T SAY NO (K Minnie), FINAL EDITION (X Ndlovu), KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (C Habib) and HOSPICES DE BEAUNE (MK Katjedi) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) CAN'T SAY NO (K Minnie) over raced in the early and middle stages. b) Jockey C Zackey reported that CHARLIE MALONE, which was hanging in from the 300m, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables. c) FINAL EDITION (X Ndlovu) was hanging in from the 200m. d) Jockey X Ndlovu was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking FINAL EDITION in front of the saddle at the 200m. Jockey X Ndlovu signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) CHAMPONELLE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised.
