THE STARTER REPORTED: a) WHISTLEDOWN (N Klink) was slow losing two lengths and thereafter slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, Apprentice G Samo-Burthia (IDEAL FUTURE) briefly lost the footing to his left-side stirrup iron. b) In view of the performance of IDEAL FUTURE (*G Samo-Burthia), (distance 12,35 lengths, betting 17/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. c) Jockey N Klink reported that he felt something amiss with WHISTLEDOWN in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) AZALEAS FOR ALL (G Lerena), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer F Bronkhorst advised (MduP). JOCKEY CHANGES: a) KISS OF FIRE: Jockey R Danielson weighed out at 56,4kg, 0,5kg over the carded weight. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) KISS OF FIRE raced with a cornell collar (declared 7 December 2023). THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) IDEAL FUTURE examined post race, nothing obvious detected. b) WHISTLEDOWN lame left front. Veterinary report required prior to racing. Rule 49.7 applies.
