THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start, LONDON ROADS (W Kennedy) and ABLUEAZURE (M Yeni) came together and bumped. b) ZEUS (K de Melo) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) TABEBUIA (C Habib) over-raced in the early stages, raced freely to the front and compounded from the 300m. b) Between the 250m and the 150m, ARAGOSTA (R Fourie) was carried out on two occasions by ZEUS (K de Melo) which commenced to hang out under pressure. c) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report concerning LONDON ROADS, and in terms of Rule 93.1, this gelding is suspended from racing for a period of sixty days in any race under the jurisdiction of the National Horseracing Authority. Trainer P A Peter advised (NHA). d) ARAGOSTA (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer M F de Kock advised (GF). e) ZEUS (K de Melo), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
