THE STARTER REPORTED:
a) 	NAZARE (*K J Lihaba) was stubborn loading.
b)	RAFA BAY (J Mariba) jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
c)	QHAWE LAMI (C Habib) was slow losing many lengths. The starting stall certificate for this gelding has been withdrawn. Stable Employee C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised (GT).
d)	PHANTOM EXPRESS (P Mxoli) was slow into stride.	


Race 9 contd. 

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED:
a)	Shortly after the start, BLAZE A WAY (*J Botes) was carried in by RAFA BAY (J Mariba), which jumped inwards leaving the stalls.	
b)	Leaving the 200m, NKANDLA GOLD (M K Katjedi) was carried in by NAZARE (*K J Lihaba), which hung in from the 300m.
c)	Shortly before the finish line, HEMISPHERE (G Lerena), which hung in from the 300m, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of PRINCE OF KILDARE (J Gates).
d)	In view of the performance of TIGER STORM (K Matsunyane), (distance 8,40 lengths, betting 17/2), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.	
e)	Jockey P Strydom reported that WHAT A TIGER took no interest in running. 
The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
f)	In view of the Starter's report with regard to QHAWE LAMI, this gelding's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn, and he is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as he proves tractable loading and jumping with a companion. 
Suspension dates: 23 May 2025 to 29 May 2025. QHAWE LAMI may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Stable Employee C Naude, acting on behalf of Trainer C Binda, was advised. 	
g)	NAZARE (*K J Lihaba), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
