THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) PATANTS HEIR (S Veale) and SOHOT SOWHAT (R Fourie) came together and bumped shortly after the start. b) NIGHT VIGIL (P Mxoli) commenced to over-race in the early stages. c) The colour cap on Jockey P Mxoli (NIGHT VIGIL) became dislodged in the early stages. d) DISTING (C F Dicken) commenced to over-race for a short distance approaching the 800m. Thereafter Jockey C F Dicken accidentally cropped his crop on the latter part of the turn. e) MALCOLM'S DREAM (K Matsunyane) hung in from the 200m. f) GET IN THE Q (S Moodley) commenced to give ground to the field from the 300m. Thereafter Jockey S Moodley, under the impression that something was amiss with this mare, did not persevere with his riding in the concluding stages. In view of this, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) SOHOT SOWHAT (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer L V Woodruff was advised (DZ).
