Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PLEASE BE TRUE (R Fourie) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PLEASE BE TRUE (R Fourie) had to be steadied and directed outwards off the heels of GREEN GARNET (G Lerena), which shifted inwards away from the crop at approximately the 250m. b) Leaving the 200m AIR RAID (A Domeyer) was brushed out slightly when GREEN GARNET (G Lerena) shifted outwards. Jockey G Lerena appeared before the Board and was questioned with regards to his riding of GREEN GARNET. He explained that his mount had shifted outwards slightly as a result of him changing his crop hand. His explanation was noted but he was, however, advised to take more care in similar circumstances in future engagements. c) DAWN TILL DUSK, the second-placed horse, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
