THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	TOTHEMOONANDBACK (M Winnaar) jumped slow, losing two lengths and thereafter was slow into stride.
b)	COUNT WILLIAM (*B Plaatjies) and COSMIC RHYTHM (O Noach) were slow into stride.	
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed as Jockey C Bantam was stood down by the course Medical Officer and a replacement Jockey for GOLD INDEX 
b)	Leaving the 200m ENGLISH MISTRESS (A Fortune) was awkwardly placed between BATON ROUGE (R Fourie) and COUNT WILLIAM (*B Plaatjies), which shifted inwards away from the crop. Thereafter, ENGLISH MISTRESS (A Fortune) and COUNT WILLIAM (*B Plaatjies) made contact on a number of occasions when racing in close proximity. 
c)	Jockey O Noach (COSMIC RHYTHM) dropped his crop at the 150m.
d)	Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking ENGLISH MISTRESS in front of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey A Fortune signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00.
e)	Jockey A Fortune was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline C on the use of the crop) in that he mis-used his crop by striking ENGLISH MISTRESS more than three times on consecutive strides in the latter stages. Jockey A Fortune signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1000.00.
f)	ENGLISH MISTRESS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer C Bass-Robinson was advised. (SC)
