Stipes Report
The start of this race was delayed due to MIDNIGHT HOUR (S Moodley) proving stubborn to load. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MIDNIGHT HOUR (S Moodley) was stubborn to load. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Leaving the starting stalls POSSIBLE BOMBER (D Schwarz) was bumped and thereafter squeezed out between BETH DUTTON (M Yeni) and GORGEOUS BOMB (G Lerena) which jumped in. b) CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS (S Veale) over-raced in the early stages without cover. c) At the 700m LIGHTINTHEDARKNESS (C Habib) was steadied out away from the heels of GUARD MY FATE (*J Botes) which was directed out away from the heels of PAPILLON BLU (A Fortune). d) GUARD MY FATE (*J Botes) hung in from the 350m. e) At the 200m GORGEOUS BOMB (G Lerena) was switched to the inside of PAPILLON BLU (A Fortune) to continue its run. f) In the concluding stages RUN FOR PEACE (*M Mbuto) which hung in from the 350m, rolled in and was steadied when close to the heels of LINE IN THE SKY (K Matsunyane). g) In view of the Starter's report with regard to MIDNIGHT HOUR (S Moodley), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable with a companion. (Suspension dates: 29.05.2025 to the 04.06.2025 bdi). MIDNIGHT HOUR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised.
