THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 1200m FORCE DE DIEU (A Fortune) which pulled hard in the early stages, was steadied to avoid running onto the heels of L'ULTIMO (*J Botes) which rolled in. b) Approaching the 200m FOREST JUMP (*M Mbuto) was directed outwards to continue its run. c) Jockey A Fortune did not persevere with his riding from the 250m and thereafter reported that FORCE DE DIEU made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. d) In view of the Veterinary Surgeon's report regarding FORCE DE DIEU, this gelding is suspended in terms of Rule 49.7 and a Veterinary Certificate is required prior to racing. Trainer R Klaasen will be advised. e) In view of the performance of GORGEOUS DUDE (A Mgudlwa) (6.00 lengths, 9/2 in the running), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. f) GLOBAL IMPACT (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
