THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ANCHORAGE (M Yeni) and WISE COUNSEL (P Mxoli) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. b) PEPPER TREE (*K J Lihaba) and TAKING A RISK (K Matsunyane) were slow losing two lengths. c) CONSTELLATION (C Murray) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PEPPER TREE (*K J Lihaba) failed to muster speed on debut and trailed the field throughout. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) CONSTELLATION (C Murray) hung out in the concluding stages. c) In view of the performance of TAKING A RISK (K Matsunyane), (distance 11,00 lengths, betting 125/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with SYLVAN WARRIOR in running.
