Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	KOLA NUT (*N Nastili) refused to jump as the start was effected and kicked the back gates of the starting stalls. Apprentice N Nastili dismounted as this gelding became more fractious and thereafter, KOLA NUT jumped riderless.
b)	FANTASY GIRL (R Fourie) stood awkwardly in the stalls and thereafter jumped awkwardly, losing two lengths.
c)	WELSH STARLET (*I Taka) jumped slow, losing one length. 
d)	MAXIGIRL (MK Katjedi) was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	WELSH STARLET (*I Taka), which jumped slow, failed to muster speed, raced detached from the field and thereafter, failed to respond to Apprentice I Taka's urgings. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
b)	WINTER GAMBLE (L Mxothwa) shortened its stride quickly in running, took a number of awkward strides leaving the 200m and was immediately eased out of the race. WINTER GAMBLE was attended to on course by the Veterinary Surgeon.
c)	CHERRY LANE (C Habib) had to be steadied and directed outwards at the 100m to avoid WINTER GAMBLE (L Mxothwa), which had been eased out of the race at the 200m.
d)	Jockey C Habib reported that CHERRY LANE did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. 
	Trainer K Mitchley was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
e)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding KOLA NUT (*N Nastili), this filly's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and she is suspended for 30 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as she proves to be tractable to jump on terms on two consecutive occasions with a companion. (Suspension dates: 31/05/2025 to 29/06/2025 inclusive) KOLA NUT may not be presented for re-passing during this period.
f)	TWILIGHT BAY, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer F Jacobs, acting on behalf of Trainer GD Smith, was advised. (LM)
