THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	WILLIAM THE FIRST (C Zackey) jumped awkwardly inwards.
b)	GREEN MANDARIN (C Little) and ALADO'S PRIDE (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	WALKONTHEWILDSIDE (R Fourie) and KYOMAI (*I Taka) were slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	At approximately the 500m GREEN MANDARIN (C Little) had to steady momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of ROSE OF BAYEUX (S Khathi), which was hanging in from the 600m and raced with its tongue over the bit.
b)	FINAL EDITION (X Ndlovu) had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ALWAYS SHINING (G Wright), which shifted in at approximately the 350m. Thereafter, FINAL EDITION (X Ndlovu) was switched out to obtain clear running at the 200m.
c)	GREEN MANDARIN (C Little) was steadied for a number of strides when awkwardly placed between MAKHACHEV (C Habib) and DYNALLEY (MK Katjedi), which shifted inwards slightly at the 300m.
d)	WALKONTHEWILDSIDE (R Fourie) shifted inwards away from the crop from the 200m and was corrected shortly before the finish line.
e)	MAKHACHEV (C Habib) had to be steadied momentarily when awkwardly placed on the heels of ROSE OF BAYEUX (S Khathi), which shifted out at approximately the 150m.
f)	LANCIAFIAMME (M van Rensburg) shifted out away from the crop at approximately the 150m.
g)	Jockey C Zackey reported that WILLIAM THE FIRST did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
h)	In view of the performance of DYNALLEY (MK Katjedi) (Betting 7/2; Distance 5.45 lengths), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer TJ Laing was advised to report back should she find anything amiss with this gelding on her return to the stables.
i)	LANCIAFIAMME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer WGC Miller was advised. (LM)
