THE STARTER REPORTED: a) AFRICAN PRIDE (G Lerena) and INTENSITY (M V'Rensburg) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Shortly after the start GOOD FOR YOU (C Little) and GREEN DIAMOND (C Zackey) came together and bumped when awkwardly placed between AFRICAN PRIDE (G Lerena) which jumped in and ZALATORIS (M Yeni) which jumped out leaving the stalls. As a result of this incident INTENSITY (M V'Rensburg) was bumped and became unbalanced by AFRICAN PRIDE (G Lerena). b) I'M A FIREBALL (S Veale) was difficult to settle in the early stages. c) Approaching the 400m KAALVOET (C Habib) was carried out by I'M A FIREBALL (S Veale) which was carried outwards away from the heels of MILITARY COMMAND (S Moodley) which was carried out by GOOD FOR YOU (C Little) which commenced to hang out. d) In the concluding stages MILITARY COMMAND (S Moodley) was inconvenienced when awkwardly placed on the heels of GOOD FOR YOU (C Little) which commenced to hang out. e) Jockey M V'Rensburg was dislodged when INTENSITY ducked out sharply after the finish. Jockey M V'Rensburg was incapacitated from weighing in and the Board, acting in terms of Rule 66.2 deemed his weight to be correct. Jockey M V'Rensburg (INTENSITY) was assessed by the course Medical Officer and was passed fit to ride. f) In view of the performances of ZALATORIS (M Yeni) (1.35 lengths, 33/10 in the betting) and AFRICAN PRIDE (G Lerena) (7.45 lengths, 8/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. g) GOOD FOR YOU (C Little), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G S Kotzen was advised (SP). h) CHARMING CHEETAH (K Matsunyane), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen was advised (DZ).
