The start of this race was delayed due to the late arrival of WHISTLE THE TUNE (C Habib) to the start.

THE STARTER REPORTED:  
a)	GIMMIE'S COUNTESS (C Zackey) lost 1 length and thereafter was slow into stride.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED :
a)	WHISTLE THE TUNE (C Habib) proved reluctant proceeding to the start and had to be led by a handler. Trainer C Dawson will be advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future, it may be suspended.
b)	DOUBLE GRAND SLAM (R Fourie) could not obtain a clear run from the 300m.
c)	In the concluding stages SYMPHONY IN WHITE was unbalanced and Jockey A Fortune was nearly dislodged when bumped by JUST BE LEKKER (S Moodley) which was carried in by WHISTLE THE TUNE (C Habib) which hung in from the 300m and thereafter was carried in by ASIYE PHAMBILI (S Veale) which rolled in.
d)	MIA MOO (C Murray), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer S G Tarry was advised (DZ).
e)	In view of the performances of SYMPHONY IN WHITE (A Fortune) (4.55 lengths, 14/1 in the betting) and CONVOCATION (A Mgudlwa) (5.90 lengths, 125/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
f)	ASIYE PHAMBILI (S Veale), placed second, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D C Howells was advised (SP).
