THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	AS FATE HAS IT (Wes Marwing) jumped awkwardly, losing three lengths.
b)	ESSENTIAL (C Zackey) jumped slow, losing one length.
c)	VOLARE E MAMBO (*B Plaatjies) was slow into stride.	

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	ESSENTIAL (C Zackey) refused to proceed to the start from the 1200m and had to be led by a Handler. Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised that should this filly behave in a similar manner in future engagements, she may be suspended.
b)	LADY SILVANO (G Wright) over raced in the early stages.
c)	CAN'T SAY NO (X Ndlovu) was hanging in from the 600m and was corrected shortly before the finish.
d)	VOLARE E MAMBO (*B Plaatjies) was hanging in from the 400m.
e)	HONORABLE MEMBER (L Mxothwa) shifted both ways away from the crop at the 200m.
f)	Jockey C Zackey reported that ESSENTIAL did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
	Assistant Trainer DG Smith was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this filly on her return to the stables.
g)	In view of the performance of AS FATE HAS IT (Wes Marwing), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
h)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding AS FATE HAS IT (Wes Marwing), Assistant Trainer DG Smith will be advised to have this filly re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
i)	RED SASH, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer t was advised. (LM)
