THE STARTER REPORTED: a) LET'S GO NOW (C Zackey), INFINITE WONDER (K A Brewer) and LA MOOHAL (J Penny) were slow losing one length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) THE EQUATOR (IRE) was selected for the taking of specimens for TCO2 testing. The first specimen revealed a level of over 36 TCO2 mmol/L. Trainer A P Peter was advised that, in terms of the Procedure for Total Carbon Dioxide (TCO2) analysis on Raceday, a second blood specimen would be collected. Trainer A P Peter was informed that the second blood specimen had revealed a level above the threshold of 38 mmol/L and that consequently THE EQUATOR (IRE) was scratched from this race in terms of the provisions of Rules 72.1.23; 4.2.14 and 4.2.18 (Withdrawn at 15H37, 4/1 in the betting). THE EQUATOR (IRE) was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer A P Peter was advised (Mr L Anderson). b) Jockey C Zackey reported that LET'S GO NOW took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) IMMEDIATE EDGE (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
