THE STARTER REPORTED:

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	PRINCESS OF BAYEUX (O Noach) raced awkwardly with its head turned to one side and proved difficult to settle in the early stages.
b)	On entering the straight STRAWBERRY THIEF (R Fourie) was directed to the outside of the racecourse to make its run. Thereafter STRAWBERRY THIEF (R Fourie) was hanging in from the 300m.
c)	Jockey JP van der Merwe reported that LICKETY SPLIT, which had to be steadied when awkwardly placed on the outside of PRINCESS OF BAYEUX (O Noach), which shifted out approaching the 100m, felt uncomfortable in its action. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
d)	Jockey C Orffer reported that LAVENDER BAY, which had to be steadied when awkwardly placed between DOUBLE DASH (G van Niekerk) and TWO A PENNY (C Zackey) at the finish, did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly.
e)	Trainer PP Kruyer was charged with a contravention of Rule 11.2.8 in that he presented WEHAVEASITUATION incorrectly equipped in the parade ring. Trainer PP Kruyer signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R250.00
f)	BENEATH THE CLOUDS, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer M Rix was advised. (SC)
