THE STARTER REPORTED: a) GOLDEN TATJANA (*B Plaatjies) was restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly with its head up and thereafter was slow into stride. b) LOVE STORY (JP van der Merwe) jumped slow, losing two lengths. c) PEACE OF MIND (G Lerena) jumped inwards d) PRINCESSONTHERUN (M Yeni) and HOPE CHEST (O Noach) were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) Shortly after the start POETIC PRINCESS (A Fortune) was momentarily inconvenienced on the inside of PEACE OF MIND (G Lerena), which jumped inwards. b) Jockey G Lerena was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Guideline 3; Appendix E) in that he mis-used his crop by striking PEACE OF MIND in front of the saddle in the latter stages. Jockey G Lerena signed an admission of guilt and was fined R1 000.00. c) PINK PIGEON, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer SJ Snaith was advised.
