THE STARTER REPORTED: a) HOPSCOTCH (M Yeni) jumped inwards leaving the stalls. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) After racing prominently, QUELLO CHE (*T Mayhew) tired from the 300m. In view of this report, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. b) BROCKEN SPECTRE (*K J Lihaba) over-raced in the early and middle stages, thereafter tired badly from the 700m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. c) In view of the performance of CODEWORD (C Maujean), (distance 26,65 lengths, betting 66/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) LAVA LAMP (K Matsunyane), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer R Klaasen advised (MS). JOCKEY CHANGES: None. Race 5 contd. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) MATTIAZO raced with a tongue tie on (declared 11 June 2025 at 09H01). b) BROCKEN SPECTRE raced equipped with blinkers (declared 11 June 2025 at 09H01). c) HOPSCOTCH raced equipped with alumites in front and unshod behind (declared 15 June 2025 ). En route to the Racecourse, HOPSCOTCH pulled its back shoe which was attended to by the Course Farrier. The Course Farrier was unable to replace the shoe. As a result, he removed the remaining back shoe, and HOPSCOTCH raced unshod behind. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) QUELLO CHE not striding out right front. b) BROCKEN SPECTRE abnormal respiratory noise; fatigued. c) CODEWORD blowing post race; fatigued. d) HOPSCOTCH cast both hind shoe in running THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
