THE STARTER REPORTED: a) VIVA SPIRIT (*J Botes) and TIRPITZ (S Veale) lost 1 length. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) At the 1300m VIVA SPIRIT (*J Botes) which rolled out marginally and IMPOSING (K Matsunyane) which rolled in marginally, came together and bumped. b) Jockey C Little was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M) in that he mis-used his crop by striking LOCK AND KEY more than twelve time (14) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey C Little signed an admission of guilt and was fined R6000. c) GIAMBATTISTA (S Khumalo), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer W Whitehead was advised (DZ).
