THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) This race was run in steady rain. The Clerk of Scales reported that the majority of Riders weighed back in in excess of 0.5kg of the weight at which they had weighed out. b) BLACK PATH (O Noach) was carried inwards by COUNTRY TIME (A Fortune) shortly after the start. c) Jockey C Zackey reported that WINTERONTHEGREEN choked up in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. d) Apprentice B Plaatjies was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.3 in that as the rider of GOLDEN IDEAL, he failed to ride GOLDEN IDEAL out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards. Apprentice B Plaatjies signed an Admission of Guilt and was fined R1 000.00. e) OVER THE ATLANTIC, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer D McLachlan was advised.
