Stipes Report
On arrival at the start ONE PATH (C Zackey) was subject to a late Veterinary examination and was subsequently withdrawn. Time was allotted to allow the betting public to restructure their bets. This caused a significant delay to the start of the race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) ZENA ROSE (*J Botes) stood, losing many lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) ZENA ROSE (*J Botes) stood, losing many lengths at the start. This filly managed to regain contact with the field at the 1000m and tired rapidly from the 250m. In view of this performance, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) FIREBURST (S Khumalo) over-raced in the early stages. c) In view of the Starter's report with regard to ZENA ROSE (*J Botes), this filly's starting stall certificate is withdrawn and it is suspended in terms of Rule 61.6.10 for a period of 7 days and until such time as it proves tractable loading and jumping on terms with a with a companion. Suspension dates: 19.06.2025 to the 25.06.2025. ZENA ROSE may not be presented for re-passing during this period. Trainer D C Howells was advised. (SL) d) Jockey S Moodley was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (Appendix E; Guideline M) in that he mis-used his crop by striking PLUM PUDDING more than twelve times (16) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Moodley signed an admission of guilt and was fined R10 000. e) PLUM PUDDING (S Moodley), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Assistant Trainer B Forster acting on behalf of Trainer W A Nel was advised (SP). JOCKEY / EQUIPMENT CHANGES : a) Nil. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER : a) Nil. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED : a) ZENA ROSE : Nothing obvious detected. SCRATCHINGS : a) ONE PATH : Not striding out in front (withdrawn by the Veterinary Surgeon at 14h06, 33/20 in the betting). Rule 53.5 applies. DISQUALIFIED / DECLARED NON-RUNNER: a) None.
