The start of this race was delayed due to the delay in the previous race. THE STARTER REPORTED: a) A fair start. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) Approaching the 150m FRENCH TRIP (K Matsunyane) and ICY BLAST (C Murray) were carried in by FEW DOLLARS MORE (C F Dicken) which hung in and shifted in from the 250m. Jockey C F Dicken appeared before the Board and was advised to take the necessary corrective measures timeously when his mounts show a tendency to shift ground in races in future. b) QUEUE WING (*M Mbuto) hung in from the 200m. c) MAGMA MAGIC (M Thackeray) hung out throughout. d) Jockey T Godden reported that SEQUOIA made an abnormal respiratory noise in the running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. e) QUEUE WING (*M Mbuto), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G B Puller was advised (NS).
