THE STARTER REPORTED: a) DEZIRE (C Habib) was restless in the stalls. b) VALIEVA (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls. c) RATTLE BAG (P Strydom) was slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) VALIEVA (G Lerena) jumped outwards leaving the stalls, which resulted in this filly's head making contact with the left-side front gate. Thereafter, Jockey G Lerena reported that he felt something amiss with VALIEVA in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. b) FLIGHT OF A CONDOR (*T Mayhew) shifted both ways away from the crop from the 200m. c) GLOBAL THUNDER (*M Mbuto) hung out in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performance of DEZIRE (C Habib), (distance 9,65 lengths, betting 3/1), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. e) Jockey P Mxoli reported that THE NAVY LARK did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this filly. f) Jockey P Strydom reported that RATTLE BAG took no interest in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this mare. g) Apprentice N Nastili reported that TIME FOR CHARITY did not stride out freely in running.
