Stipes Report
THE STARTER REPORTED: a) PORTFIRE dislodged Jockey Wes Marwing while proceeding to the start. b) STAND UP (J Gates) was stubborn loading. c) SEMPRE BELLA (S Khathi) jumped awkwardly d) DINERO (K Minnie) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing one length. e) MATT'S WARRIOR (*B Plaatjies) stood as the start was effected, losing many lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) PYRO EDITION recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer JP Nel was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) In view of the report from the Starter regarding PORTFIRE (Wes Marwing) the Stewards, in consultation with Trainer L Gila, allowed the scratching of PORTFIRE as no suitable jockey was available. This caused a delay to the start of this race. c) SEMPRE BELLA (S Khathi) raced awkwardly with its head up for a number of strides shortly after the start. d) PRYO EDITION (C Little) raced awkwardly for a number of strides and settled at approximately the 1300m. e) AWAY WITH RED (MK Katjedi) and STAND UP (J Gates) were hanging in throughout. f) Apprentice N Nastili (FIZZLY BUBBLY) dropped his crop at the 700m. g) Apprentice N Nastili reported that FIZZLY BUBBLY did not stride out freely in running. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding. h) In view of the report from the Starter regarding MATT'S WARRIOR (*B Plaatjies), this colt's starting stall certificate has been withdrawn and he is suspended for 7 days in terms of Rule 61.6.10 and until such time as he proves to be tractable to jump on terms with a companion. (Suspension dates: 21/06/2025 to 27/06/2025, both dates inclusive) MATT'S WARRIOR may not be presented for re-passing during this period. i) EXALTED LOVE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
