Stipes Report

THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	JUAN CARLOS (C Maujean) and PAINITE (L Mxothwa) were stubborn loading.
b)	HAROLD THE DUKE (*B Plaatjies), GREEN MANDARIN (A Fortune) and ONLY A POET (*N Nastili) jumped slow, losing one length.

THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The saddle on PAINITE (L Mxothwa) slipped back in running. This was confirmed by the Veterinary Surgeon.
b)	In view of the performance of KOHANA (MK Katjedi), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine this gelding.
	Trainer JP Nel was advised to report back should he find anything amiss with this gelding on his return to the stables.
c)	Jockey S Khathi was charged with a contravention of Rule 58.10.2 (read with Guideline M on the use of the crop) in that as the rider of MAKHACHEV he misused his crop by striking MAKHACHEV more than 12 times (17) which was not warranted when considering the circumstances of the race. Jockey S Khathi signed an admission of guilt and was fined R20 000,00 and suspended for seven (7) days (Dates: 21/06/2025 to 27/06/2025, both dates inclusive). 
	Jockey S Khathi was further advised that his record regarding the transgression of this Rule is becoming untenable and if he is found to have transgressed this Rule in future engagements, a more stringent sanction would be considered.
d)	GIMME MORE TIME, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Stable Employee Z Xamle, acting on behalf of Trainer SJ Snaith, was advised. (SP)
