THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED CORAL (G van Niekerk) and SEE THE SIGN (J Solomons) were re-saddled at the start. b) LADY OF FATE (*B Plaatjies) jumped with its head up, losing one length and thereafter was slow into stride. c) RED CORAL (G van Niekerk) was slow into stride THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) HAY FEVER (M Yeni) proved difficult to settle in the early and middle stages. b) At the 250m TAYLOR'S VERSION (S Veale) was steadied to avoid the heels of MISS MACKIE (G Wright), which shifted in marginally away from the crop. c) Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 62.2.7 in that as the rider of RED CORAL, he failed to ensure that he did not cause interference to RED STATE at the 400m. Jockey G van Niekerk signed an Admission of Guilt and is suspended from riding in races for a period of 10 days. (Dates: 25/06/2025 to 04/07/2025, both dates inclusive) d) Jockey G van Niekerk was charged with a contravention of Rule 55.4 in that he failed to weigh out at the carded weight on RED CORAL, or at the higher weight confirmed in his engagement with the Trainer.
