THE STARTER REPORTED:

a)	BETTER MAN (G Lerena) (Betting 15/10) was examined at the start and withdrawn.
b)	DANCING WARRIOR (C Orffer) was stubborn loading and thereafter, was slow into stride.
c)	NARETOI (M Yeni) was restless in the stalls. 
d)	FROM THE HIP (A Arries) jumped slow, losing one length.
e)	GALLIC FORGE (G Wright) took an awkward stride when bumped by YAMAZAKI (JP van der Merwe), which jumped outwards.
	
THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: 

a)	The start of this race was delayed to allow the betting public time to restructure their bets.
b)	MARINE MERCHANT (C Bantam) over raced in the early and middle stages.
c)	GALLIC FORGE (G Wright) raced wide on the turn and into the straight.
d)	SET TO MUSIC (A Fortune) was hanging out and shifted out from the 300m to the finish.
e)	When interviewed regarding his riding of GALLIC FORGE, which gave ground to the field shortly after entering the straight and was not persevered with, Jockey G Wright told the Stewards that he felt fatigued during the running of this race and was subsequently stood down by the course Medical Officer, suffering from dehydration. Jockey G Wright was advised that he must be examined prior to fulfilling any further riding engagements. 
	Trainer J Crawford was advised to report back on the condition of this gelding.
f)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding DANCING WARRIOR (C Orffer), Trainer AN Marcus will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to his next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
g)	In view of the report from the Starter regarding NARETOI (M Yeni), Trainer J Crawford will be advised to have this gelding re-schooled prior to her next engagement in terms of Rule 61.6.10.
h)	CAPTAINS ALLIANCE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.  Trainer VH Marshall was advised. (KG)
