THE STARTER REPORTED: a) MAURITIUS KESTREL (C Orffer) and INNAMORARE (M Yeni) jumped awkwardly and were slow into stride. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) MAURITIUS KESTREL recorded a TCO2 concentration of more than 36 mmol/L. Trainer AN Marcus was advised that a second blood specimen would be collected. This specimen was of an acceptable TCO2 level. b) PROMETTERE (R Fourie) had difficulty obtaining clear running until the 150m. c) Leaving the 100m Jockey S Veale (SAN PEDRO) hesitated briefly with his riding when close to the heels of PLEASE BE TRUE (G Lerena), which shifted out slightly and was immediately straightened. d) Jockey e) PLEASE BE TRUE, the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
