THE STARTER REPORTED: a) Fair break. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED: a) GUERRA (N Klink) commenced to give ground from the 400m and was not persevered with in the closing stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the gelding. b) QUEEN OF FIRE (K Brewer) shifted both ways from the crop over the final 200m. c) FORCE EIGHT (P Mxoli) came under pressure and commenced to give ground in the closing stages. The Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine the filly. d) GYPSY EXPRESS (J Syster), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis. Trainer G Macleod advised (AH). JOCKEY AND/OR EQUIPMENT CHANGES None. RACE CARD CHANGES / OTHER: a) QUEEN OF FIRE Jockey K Brewer weighed out at 53,3kg, 1kg over the carded weight of which was declared. THE VETERINARY SURGEON REPORTED: a) GUERRA examined post-race, lame left hind. b) FORCE EIGHT examined post-race, nothing obvious detected. THERE WERE NO SCRATCHINGS.
