THE STARTER REPORTED: a) RED FRED (M V'Rensburg), BINGELELAMZALWANE (D Daniels) and BOMBER STREAM (*D Pillay) lost 1 length. b) MOHAVE PRINCE (S Hlengwa) fly-jumped leaving the stalls, losing 2 lengths. THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS REPORTED : a) GRAND FORCE (S Moodley) hung in from the 250m. b) Approaching the 50m BINGELELAMZALWANE (D Daniels) was switched to the outside of BEARTIC (C F Dicken) which hung in from the 200m. c) CHAPBOOK (R Fourie) hung in and shifted in, in the concluding stages. d) In view of the performance of BOMBER STREAM (*D Pillay) (12.40 lengths, 25/1 in the betting), the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine. Trainer D W Moore will be asked to report back on the condition of this gelding on return to stables. e) CHAPBOOK (R Fourie), the winner, was selected for the taking of specimens for analysis.
